Cables, Cables, Cables! Looking at the 2019 fall fashion trends in knitwear the cable knits dominate. The cable knits come in all shape and form, oversized, cropped, bright or neutral, they are as diverse as their different patterns.

As well as the bold shoulders, cable knits are in this fall, and my favorite cable sweaters are the Aran jumpers, which take its name from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland.

The Aran jumper is also known as a Fisherman sweater. Wool And The Gangs knit kit Cast Away Sweater is a fisherman sweater that’s made out of recycled plastic bottles and organic cotton, which results in a sustainable jumper that saves a whole 27 plastic bottles from the ocean. Slow fashion at its best!

However, cables are a lot of work, so this knitting kit is for the advanced knitter but what a joy when finished. The kit includes all you need to complete the Cast Away sweater, and traditionally Aran jumpers are made in off-white, but Wool And The Gang has a wide range of colors from which you can choose.
