The Mini Classic Sweater from We Are Knitters was a perfect gift for my goddaughter Cleo that complements her Sprinkles Hat from Stitch & Story (I must have a thing for sprinkles ?)

I think this sweater makes the perfect wardrobe essential. It’s easy to knit and have a classic design that fits both girls and boys.

The Mini Classic Sweater knit kit includes a pattern in booklet form with step-by-step instructions and how-to tips. We Are Knitters also have a ton of how-to videos to get you through the project.

The yarn

The Meriwool is made in 100 % Merino. Merino is one of the World’s most ancient breeds of sheep, and the wool is known for its fine, soft and warm quality, which makes this one of my favorite kind of yarn.

You can wear Merino close to the skin, and it’s popular for knitting baby clothes. A big plus is that you can wash the Meriwool in the washing machine and comes in 20+ colors.

As the Mini Classic Sweater is quite basic in the design, I wanted to spice it up a little and chose the Sprinkle Fantasy color, which has a mix of bright sprinkles.

Knitting experience

I really enjoyed knitting this sweater. It has a simple straight forward design knitted in garter stitch, but the best was the sprinkled yarn.

The Meriwool is smooth to knit, and to my surprise, I found it meditating, seeing all the different colors combine and melt together as knitting along.
